What happened, in order

2024. Bloomberg Law says Robin AI was raising $50 million; it adds that Robin had raised at least $61.5 million by late 2024.

October 28, 2025. Legal IT Insider reported the company was listed for a distressed sale on an insolvency marketplace, with final offers due November 13, 2025. The listing, as the article relays it, claimed $10m ARR and a $16m pipeline. Those are the seller’s figures, not audited ones.

December 2025. Artificial Lawyer reported that Scissero acquired Robin’s managed services team and said the deal “brings an end to Robin AI as it was known”. Robin’s CEO was not joining; the technology group was reported to be in talks with another buyer.

January 14, 2026. Bloomberg Law reported Microsoft hired at least 18 former Robin AI employees, including former CTO Carina Negreanu, now a partner group manager on Microsoft Word, and former director of AI Diana Mincu.

What it means if you are a Robin AI customer

We cannot tell you what your contract says. We can tell you what to check, because the public record does not answer it.

Who is your counterparty? Ask in writing which legal entity now provides the service, and whether your agreement was assigned. If you bought managed services, the reported buyer is Scissero. If you bought the software platform, the public record does not say who runs it.

Your data. Ask where your uploaded contracts and extracted data sit, who can access them, and how to get a full export and a written deletion confirmation. Check the data-processing terms you signed.

Your term and fees. Check termination, assignment and change-of-control clauses, prepaid fees and any support or uptime commitments. Do not renew or expand until you have written answers.

Get an export now. Pull your contract repository, obligation data and review outputs into a format you control while the service still responds.

How to choose

The bottom line: Treat Robin AI as a company that was sold off in pieces, not as an active choice. The sale listing, the Scissero deal and the Microsoft hires are reported; the platform’s owner and your data’s status are not public. If you use it, get answers in writing and an export.
