Laine plans and prices (read October 31, 2026)
The page shows "$" and prices excluding VAT; it does not name the currency.
| Plan | Users | Monthly | Yearly |
|---|---|---|---|
| Solo | Up to 1 | $350 per month | $3,500 per year |
| Pro | Up to 4 | $999 per month | $9,990 per year |
| Boutique | Up to 9 | $2,499 per month | $24,990 per year |
| Practice | Up to 15 | $4,999 per month | $49,990 per year |
| Firm | Up to 22 | $7,499 per month | $74,990 per year |
| Enterprise | Unlimited | Contact us | Contact us |
Pro adds team collaboration and priority email support to Solo. Boutique has the same listed features as Pro. Practice is labelled "Most Popular" and lists three times the included capacity and a lower per-action cost. Firm lists six times the included capacity, priority processing and advanced team management. Enterprise lists the highest included capacity, the lowest overage rate and dedicated support.
What the price includes, and what it does not say
- Usage allowance. Each plan includes monthly AI capacity. The page does not give the size of that allowance.
- Overage. Usage beyond the allowance is billed per use and added to the next invoice. We did not see the per-use rate on the page.
- Yearly billing. Yearly plans are labelled "Get 2 months free." The yearly figures above are 10 times the monthly price.
- Trial. A 7-day free trial is shown on every plan except Enterprise, with "Cancel anytime." The page does not say whether a card is required.
- Cancellation. On monthly plans you can cancel before the next billing cycle and keep access to the end of the month; no refunds are issued for the current billing period. Annual plans run to the end of the paid term with no refund for unused months.
- VAT. Prices exclude VAT, which is calculated at checkout based on your location.
Because the allowance and the overage rate are unpublished, the monthly price alone does not tell you what a month of heavy drafting costs. Ask for both in writing, or run the trial on a month's typical workload.
What Laine does
Laine's home page describes a legal AI platform that asks questions first, then drafts and reviews. We read these features on the vendor's pages:
- Guided drafting of more than 50 legal document types, with analysis for the selected jurisdiction.
- An editor where each change comes back as a tracked change you accept or reject, with Word (.docx) import and export.
- Document review modes including full analysis, red flags, market standard and due diligence.
- Playbooks that hold a team's preferred terms and fallback positions.
On jurisdictions, the site says Laine supports all 50 states and that its native library currently covers Delaware, California, New Jersey and New York law. We found no Word add-in and no stated integration with a document management system on the pages we read.
Data handling, as the vendor states it
Laine's pages say requests are processed briefly and the text is deleted once the output is generated, and that content is never retained or trained on. Files are stored in Zurich, Switzerland, and AI requests are processed in Belgium (EU). The home page lists ISO 27001, GDPR, CCPA/CPRA and SOC 2 Type II. These are the vendor's statements; its terms of use and privacy policy are not reviewed here, and we did not verify any certification. Laine states that it is not a law firm and that the lawyer remains responsible for the output.
How to compare it
Laine is a drafting and review tool, so the closest comparison is contract AI such as Spellbook. See Spellbook pricing tiers and the Spellbook review. We did not find a Laine comparison on Laine's own pages, and we do not rank the two here.
Questions for a written quote:
- What is the included monthly capacity on the plan you are considering, in documents or actions?
- What is the per-use overage rate?
- Is a card required for the 7-day trial, and what happens on day 8?
- Which state law libraries are native, and which are generated for other states?
- Does the Word workflow meet your document control process without a plug-in?
