AI VORTEX

AI workflow consulting · Law firms and legal teams

Your firm has the AI tools.
The risk sits in the workflow around them.

I help law firms and in-house legal teams turn one AI-assisted workflow into a process with a named reviewer, a source trail and a way out if the vendor changes. Founder-led, with Manuel Ayala from diagnosis through handoff.

AI Systems Blueprint · From $2,500 · 7–10 business days · Operations and systems design, not legal advice

Where to start

Bring one workflow. These three come up first.

Each one has a person who signs, a source that has to be checked and a tool that can change under you. Pick the closest. If yours is different, say so in the brief.

01 / Before filing

Citation verification

Who drafts, who checks each authority against the source, and who signs. Courts have sanctioned lawyers over AI-generated citations that nobody checked, and the signature is what carries the risk. The Blueprint maps the check, the log and the stop rule: no verified source, no filing.

02 / Before buying

Vendor selection

Price and security pages are hard to compare, and the feature list is rarely the hard part. The Blueprint records what you need, what each vendor states in writing, who reviews the output and what you keep if you switch.

03 / Every week

Intake and routine matter work

What arrives, who triages it, what gets escalated and where context is lost between people. A good first pilot: one queue, one owner and a success condition you can measure against the current process.

What a Blueprint decides

A worked example. Fictional, not a client.

A small litigation firm, invented for this page. Associates draft with an AI tool, a partner reviews the final brief and cannot tell which citations were checked. This is the kind of record the Blueprint produces.

Illustrative example · No real firm, no results claimed
  1. Current stateDrafting is fast. Verification happens in the partner’s head, once, at the end, under deadline.
  2. DecisionKeep the existing tool. Add one citation log per filing: each authority, the source opened, who opened it and when.
  3. Human boundaryA named verifier for every filing, separate from the drafter. Any authority without a checked source blocks the handoff to the signer.
  4. Exit planThe log and the review rules live in the firm’s own files, so changing vendors does not change the process.
  5. PilotRun one filing type for a few weeks. Compare review time and unverified authorities caught before partner review with the current process. The result can be to revise the design or stop.

How it works

Start small. Keep what works.

The first brief is a description of one workflow. No client documents. If the fit is right, the next step is a Blueprint or a scoped Pilot.

AI Systems Blueprint. From $2,500, 7–10 business days. Current-state map, architecture, decision record, review rules and a pilot scope.

AI Systems Pilot. One workflow, typically 3–6 weeks. Scope and price agreed before work begins.

Commercial terms are confirmed after fit and scope. See the full offer.

Before the next step

Questions law firms ask.

What does a law firm get from a Blueprint?

One workflow mapped end to end: who drafts, who reviews, who signs, where the sources live, and what happens when a check fails. It ends with a decision record (build, buy, configure or connect), review rules and a pilot scope. From $2,500, 7 to 10 business days.

Do you need our client files?

No. The first brief asks for a description of the workflow, not documents. Any later access to firm material would be agreed for that engagement, with confidentiality terms first.

Is this legal advice or a vendor recommendation service?

No. It is operations and systems design. I do not give legal advice, and I take no commission from vendors. A recommendation names the trade-offs for your workflow, using what each vendor states publicly.

Is the worked example a real client?

No. It is a fictional example written to show the kind of decisions a Blueprint records. AI Vortex does not publish client names or results on this page.

What if we are not ready to hire anyone?

The research stays free: the public case record of AI sanctions and court rules, and the dated pricing and security sheet for legal AI tools. Use them first and write when a specific workflow needs an owner.
