Who each is for

Everlaw. The vendor describes it as "AI built for litigation and investigations" and "the evidence layer for legal AI": the system of record for the evidence in a case. Its pricing page lists ingestion with cloud connectors, review tools, productions with clawbacks, predictive coding and AI features such as Deep Dive for natural-language questions. See our Everlaw profile, the Everlaw pricing page and Everlaw alternatives.

Harvey. The platform page describes agents that plan and deliver review-ready, cited work, a vault to store and bulk-analyze documents, workflows, research across legal, regulatory and tax questions, and shared spaces with clients and outside counsel. It is a general legal AI layer, not an ediscovery review database. See our Harvey profile and Harvey pricing page.

Where they overlap. Both answer questions over large sets of documents. The difference to test is the system of record: in a litigation matter, who holds the processed, deduplicated, privilege-reviewed set of documents, and which tool is allowed to read it. Everlaw says its open platform lets you "work entirely within Everlaw or use whatever drafting platform you prefer".

Pricing, as shown on October 28, 2026

  • Everlaw: its pricing page shows a feature list and "Request a Demo", with no amounts. Several AI features are marked as credits, and the page says some of them are free for a single document. Count of credits and price per credit are not published.
  • Harvey: its platform page shows no price. Harvey does not publish a price there, so for Harvey the route is a quote from the vendor.

Before you rely on this

  • Prices for either product: ask each vendor for a written quote, and ask Everlaw how AI credits are metered.
  • Integration: Everlaw says it connects to tools like Harvey. We did not test that connection and the page does not describe the technical details. Ask both vendors what exactly flows between them.
  • Security: Everlaw lists SOC 2 Type 2, FedRAMP Class C (Moderate) and GovRAMP Moderate; Harvey lists SAML SSO, audit logs, IP allow-listing and data lifecycle management. Ask each for its reports and for data retention terms.
  • Scale figures on either page (documents, reviewers, users): the pages give no method, so we repeat none.
  • Which tool your matter's protective order or client rules allow to touch the documents: check before you upload.

How we'd test the two in a week

  1. Pick a closed matter you can use for a test, with a known set of key documents.
  2. In Everlaw, load a sample and ask the same ten questions through its question-answering feature.
  3. Run the same ten questions through Harvey on the same documents, in its vault.
  4. Check every answer against the source documents and note what each cites, misses or invents.
  5. Ask each vendor for written terms on data retention, who can see your documents and what it costs at your volume.
