Gavel Workflows plans and prices (page read November 1, 2026)

The page is headed "Free to Start, Plans from $83" and shows prices in US dollars with a monthly and an annual toggle. The page does not state what each plan costs on annual billing, only that annual plans billed upfront get 2 months free.

Where the page disagrees with itself

  • Standard price. The plan card shows $210 a month and the comparison table shows $165 a month. We cannot tell from the page which one applies, or whether one is the annual rate. Ask for the invoice figure before you buy.
  • Standard seats. The card says 1 builder seat. A feature line in the comparison table mentions 2 builder seats, while the seat grid shows 1 builder and no organizational users.

What the plans do not cover

  • Trial. Lite, Standard and Pro show a 7-day trial, and the comparison table says no credit card is required. Some buttons read "Try Pro Free" without a length.
  • Extra users. On Lite and Standard you must upgrade to Pro or Scale to add builders or organizational users. On Pro and Scale, users above your allotment are billed at $50 a month per builder and $35 a month per organizational user.
  • Payment. Monthly plans are paid by credit card. Annual plans can also be paid by ACH, wire transfer or check.
  • Building help. Gavel lists "Hire an Automator", an optional paid service where a vetted Gavel Expert quotes per project. No rates are published.
  • Gavel Exec. Gavel also sells Exec, AI contract review in Word (draft, review, redline, playbooks, benchmarking). Its pricing sits on a separate page not covered here, so no Exec price appears.

What you are buying

Gavel Workflows is rules-based document automation: you build a template with logic, a client fills a form, and the tool generates the Word or PDF document. The page frames it as turning intake into documents faster; it gives no speed figure we could check. It is different from a generative drafting tool. If you want an AI assistant that drafts from scratch, read our Gavel profile and the pricing models guide first.

The page says Gavel undergoes regular penetration testing by a third-party security firm and that data is isolated by tier. It names no SOC 2 or other certification; no certification was checked elsewhere.

Questions for a written quote

  1. Which Standard price applies, $210 or $165, and is it monthly or annual billing?
  2. What does each plan cost on annual billing, once the 2 free months are counted?
  3. What counts as a session, and what happens when you pass the monthly limit?
  4. How many builders and organizational users will you actually need, given the upgrade rule?
  5. If you want contract review, what does Gavel Exec cost on top?
